About

The primary aim of this study was to compare the effects of a home-based exercise program alone to a home-based exercise program combined with a weight loss program for people with hip pain over 12 months. Participants in both groups undertook an exercise program and received 5 online consultations with a physiotherapist. One of the groups also undertook a weight loss program and received 6 online consultations with a dietitian.

ECHO was designed and developed by researchers (Prof Kim Bennell, Dr Michelle Hall, Prof Rana Hinman, Gabby Knox, Libby Spiers, Fiona McManus) at the University of Melbourne, with collaborators from The University of Sydney and Wake Forest University. This project is funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council.
