The primary aim of this study was to evaluate two different treatments chosen based on expert feedback from general practitioners, podiatrists and physiotherapists from around Australia for foot osteoarthritis and examine their effects on foot pain and physical function. There is a need for effective treatments that reduce pain and improve function for people with foot osteoarthritis.

Researchers involved in this study included Dr Kade Paterson, Prof Kim Bennell, and Prof Rana Hinman at the University of Melbourne with collaborators at La Trobe University and the University of Queensland. The study was funded by the Australian Podiatry Education and Research Fund.
