Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences represent teaching advances on an international stage

HERDSA presentations

Members of the teaching team from the Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences travelled to Singapore for the Higher Education Research and Development Society of Australasia (HERDSA) Conference.

Anthea Cochrane, Kwang Cham gave oral and poster presentations and Jia Jia Lek, Jonathan Ng, and Selwyn Prea each presented a poster showcasing their work. It was fantastic to see such strong engagement from fellow conference-goers, with plenty of great conversations and probing questions during the poster sessions. The dialogue generated fresh perspectives and practical ideas, and the team returned with valuable insights that we are already looking to apply to strengthen our own course offerings.

ANZHAPE Recognition

The Australian and New Zealand Association for Health Professional Educators (ANZHAPE) is the peak organisation for practitioners involved in education and training of health professionals in Australia, New Zealand and the Western Pacific region. This was attended by Anthea Cochrane, Andrew Huhtanen and Amanda Douglass who shared presentations on teaching advances. Congratulations in particular to Amanda Douglass and Bao Nguyen on their ANZHAPE Associate Fellowship recognition - a well‑deserved acknowledgement of their contributions to health professions education.
