Student-Led Audiology Conference a Resounding Success

The Department of Audiology's annual student conference in September was a resounding success, showcasing impressive student leadership and initiative.

Entirely student-led from planning to execution, the event highlighted the passion of the next generation of clinicians. The theme ‘The Evolving Clinician in Practice: Reflect, Grow, Act’, was embodied through insightful student presentations reflecting on international placement experiences and showcasing their final year clinical portfolios.

A highlight was the tradeshow exhibiting 15 leading hearing technology organisations and audiology practices. Each company showcased the latest research developments, technological advancements, and audiological care innovations. This provided a valuable opportunity for students to engage and network with industry leaders.

Perhaps most notably, the students raised an impressive $750 for the Weenthunga Health Network through a raffle with over $5,000 in donated prizes. The Weenthunga Health Network is focused on growing and nourishing the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workforce through transformational change.

From organising every detail to facilitating networking and fundraising, the department congratulates the outstanding student committee members Reegan, Madi, Kim, Claire, Anne, and Rosie on their exceptional efforts in making this conference a great success!
