Prof Fiona Dobson teaching at Hokkaido University Summer School
On 3-6 June, Prof Fiona Dobson travelled to teach the short course ‘Healthy Aging with Exercise’ at Hokkaido University Summer School in collaboration with Hokkaido University’s Faculty of Health Science staff Prof Mina Samukawa, Dr Tomoya Ishida, A/Prof Yuta Koshino and Dr Takumi Ino. They are all researchers specialised in rehabilitation of age-related chronic diseases like osteoarthritis on a global scale.
The influence of exercise on the musculoskeletal system and psychological conditions is also shown to promote healthy ageing. With an increase in aging rate and growth of the aging population, this program explored the effects of exercise through practical learning, research and reporting, and considered how healthy aging contributes to solving health issues globally.
