New Head of Department of Nursing

The Melbourne School of Health Sciences is pleased to announce Prof Fiona Newall as the new Head of Department of Nursing.

Professor Newall is an internationally recognised Nurse Scientist and Researcher whose academic leadership is founded on clinical credibility and supporting nurse engagement in research and evidence-based practice. Fiona’s leadership excellence strategy champions shared responsibility in goal setting, empowerment of staff, and strengthening community structures in patient care and academic settings. Collaborative practice is one of Fiona’s life-long passions, which cultivates the strengths within her teams to shine and encourages individual voices to be valued and heard and broader strategic growth to be realised.
