Implementation Science Collaboration and Training Launch
Over the past three decades, implementation science has developed a substantial body of knowledge about how to translate evidence into healthcare practice, to accelerate the uptake of innovations, reduce low-value care, and drive down health inequity. There is still much to do.
On behalf of the Melbourne School of Health Sciences and the Melbourne Implementation Research Group, we invite you to join us for the launch of our exciting initiatives in implementation science:
Towards a Fairer, Healthier World: Implementation Science Collaboration and Training Launch

This launch event will include a vigorous panel discussion about the state of implementation science, how to future-proof the field, and the importance of breaking down silos. We will showcase our methods for fostering research collaborations and our new Specialist Certificate in Implementation Science.
We are pleased to announce the following international experts will be guest speakers for this event:
A/Prof Stephanie Best
Stephanie is an implementation scientist with a strong international clinical background as a Chartered Physiotherapist. Stephanie leads the implementation science research at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre Alliance and Australian Genomics. Her research interests include equitable implementation of complex health interventions.
Prof Simon French
Simon is a Professor of Musculoskeletal Disorders and Director of Research at the Department of Chiropractic, Macquarie University. Simon conducts research in the area of knowledge translation in primary healthcare settings with a focus on the management of low back pain and osteoarthritis.
A/Prof Natalie Taylor
Natalie is an implementation scientist at the University of NSW. She has over 12 years of experience in developing, applying, and advancing methodologies to study optimal ways to translate evidence into practice, primarily in healthcare settings. Natalie delivers international behaviour change workshops, toolkits, and coaching for healthcare professionals to test the impact of implementation
Prof Luke Wolfenden
Luke Wolfenden is a behavioural and implementation scientist. He is the Director of the National Centre of Implementation Science, a NHMRC Centre of research Excellence. His work seeks to integrate and improve the implementation of chronic disease prevention interventions within health and community settings.
