Listen to Our Master of Social Work Students Take on Podcasting!

Six Master of Social Work students recently completed a 500-hour placement with our podcast team within the department.

During their placement, the students produced two excellent advocacy-focused podcast episodes, which are now available to listen to. As part of the process, they collaborated with various community service providers and received training with 3 Community Radio.

Hosts Goke, Dorian, and Gabrielle explore the powerful impact of sports and recreation on the health and wellbeing of marginalised communities. This episode takes you to Reclink, a not-for-profit organisation, where they speak with founder Pete Cullen AM, program coordinators, volunteers, and participants to understand how Reclink fosters community connection and resilience.

Unpaid carers form the backbone of our communities, providing critical support to loved ones in need. In this episode, hosts Devin and Navya discuss the unique challenges faced by carers and how Neighbourhood Houses Victoria has created a space for them to support one another, shining a light on the importance of community in caregiving.
