Linda Denehy elected as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences

The AAHMS is an interdisciplinary body made up of 532 fellows, each elected by their peers for their outstanding achievement and contribution to their respective health and medical science fields. Their independent, expert and evidence-based knowledge and networks help drive change and provide leadership to best address key health concerns.

Linda’s election as a Fellow acknowledges her extensive contributions as a physiotherapist, educator and clinician researcher. She is recognised nationally and internationally as a leader of cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, with her main area of focus being acute care, prehab and rehab to improve patient outcomes. Linda is also recognised as an expert in oncology and critical care rehabilitation and has led programs of research on the role of exercise in improving cancer patient outcomes, with her extensive research career putting her in the top 0.1% of rehabilitation experts globally. Linda’s research has led to improved patient outcomes both before and after critical illness and has helped pioneer new career pathways for physios worldwide.
