Laura Downie named in Cosmos top 50

Please join us in congratulating Professor Laura Downie on being acknowledged by Cosmos Magazine.

Laura, a clinician-scientist at the University of Melbourne, was recognised by Cosmos Magazine as one of the top 50 "remarkable and inspirational women in Australian science" for her leadership in evidence-based vision care, particularly in the area of dry eye disease.

Laura is a Professor and Dame Kate Campbell Fellow for research excellence in the Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.

In her role, Laura provides didactic and clinical training to eye care clinicians, leads the specialty cornea clinic at Melbourne Eyecare Clinic, heads her own research laboratory, the ‘Anterior Eye, Clinical Trials and Research Translation Unit', is Director of the Melbourne Cochrane Eyes and Vision Centre for Evidence-Based Vision Care, and jointly directs the FrontTear Research Centre with Dr Holly Chinnery.
