Department of Physiotherapy representation at the APASC
The University of Melbourne Department of Physiotherapy had substantial input into the conference through organising committees, invited presentations and submitted abstract presentations. Dr Natalie Fini was the overall conference convenor, chairing both the Conference Advisory and Scientific Program Committees. A/Prof Selina Parry chaired the Cardiorespiratory Scientific Committee and Dr Lara Edbrooke chaired the Cancer, Palliative Care and Lymphoedema Scientific Committee.
The conference also saw 5 staff members admitted as Fellows of the College of Physiotherapists by Original Contribution: Dr Megan Banky, Prof Kim Bennell, Prof Linda Denehy, A/Prof Kate Hayward & Prof Rana Hinman. Congratulations on this very prestigious achievement!
Further, Prof Alicia Spittle was recipient of the APA National Paedeatric Group Yvonne Burns Award, which recognises an outstanding contribution made by a physiotherapist to paedeatric physiotherapy. The award demonstrates the contribution Alicia has made to the health and wellbeing of children and their families, and to the profession. Congratulations!
