Congratulations on successful Seed Funding Grant application
Cory Dal Pante and his team with Mark Merolli, Michelle Mun, Sophie Jones, Kayley Lyons, Tim Beaumont, Eduardo Oliviera, and Justin Bilszta made a successful application "Building educator capabilities in generative AI assisted pedagogy" for the MSHS Learning & Teaching Initiative Seed Funding Grant.
In this new age of AI and education, there is an urgent need to upskill academics within our faculty to adapt to this continuously evolving landscape. It is vital that academics acquire both literacy and proficiency with genAI tools to harness their full potential and implement genAI-assisted pedagogy in their courses. To achieve this, Cory and team's recent successful MDHS LTI Seed Funding application will support: a learning needs analysis of our health professions educators, the design of a targeted program of work to address the identified needs, and the creation of connections and visibility of leading scholars that might lead to new scholarship and communities. Their project brings together academics from across the faculty, the wider university, and engages students to gain a wide perspective about the current problem and how to address it.
They look forward to connecting with academics within the faculty, in the near future, via surveys and in-depth interviews to understand their knowledge and skill requirements, perceptions of facilitators and barriers, and what delivery models are most suitable to address these needs.
