Department of Social Work Research Strategy Day
On 30 January 2024, 36 staff from the Department of Social Work met for a research strategy day.
Led by Professor Sarah Wise, our Director of Research, the day provided an opportunity for us to familiarise ourselves with the many areas of research activity across the Department – including health, mental health and disability; the prevention of domestic and family violence, and child abuse; and social justice – and to align our strategy with the new Faculty research pillars, particularly prevention and health equity, and health service system reform.
These research areas cross the innovation phases of discovery, implementation and evaluation. We seek to understand social challenges and lived experiences, develop and implement changes for better practice and social policy reform, and evaluate the success of new initiatives.
