Scientific and Educators Meeting in Optometry 2023

DOVS was involved in the Scientific and Educators Meeting in Optometry (SEMO) held on 11 September.

The day involved a collaboration between national and international leaders in optometry, as well as educators and researchers. SEMO created an opportunity for optometry schools and their partners, with an emphasis on promoting early career researchers, academics and higher degree students to be exposed to the latest educational scholarship. The one-day program balanced research and teaching through round table discussions of Challenges and opportunities in optometric teaching, exploring areas such as optometric education, indigenous curriculum, innovation in teachings and the scholarships of teaching, building sustainable academic careers, and outreach.
