Meet the MSHS Implementation Science team
The MSHS implementation science team is growing. Led by A/Prof Stephanie Best, the focus is on methodological advances, application of implementation science in practice and capacity building.
Implementation science is the study of how we optimally get what we know works to the people who need it. The aim is to methodically narrow the gap between ‘what we know’ and ‘what we do’ in practice by identifying and addressing the determinants of uptake of evidence-based practices, from individual behaviour to complex systems thinking.
Although the team are all research focused, they are now delivering a Specialist Certificate in Implementation Science comprising of two online subjects covering implementation in theory and practice. The 2024 cohort included people based locally, either from UoM, other universities and/or hospitals, plus others based interstate and overseas, covering expertise from allied health, public health, World Health Organization, sport and beyond.
The team is leading the way in the field with publications in the premier implementation science journals. Find some of them here:
