Len Tierney Travelling Award 2023
Three Master of Social Work graduates have been selected as the inaugural recipients of the Len Tierney Social Work Travelling Award.
The Len Tierney Social Work Travelling Award is an annual award bequeathed by the Tierney family to provide support to Master of Social Work students and help them travel to the USA to engage in advanced direct practice training and specialisation in a social work program.
This year, the award has been given to three recipients: Grace Haslinghouse, Gayathiri Jambulingam and Rebecca Acuto. Grace is a social worker at The Royal Children's Hospital, and is currently in New York on her award and linking up with a wide range of agencies and learning opportunities. Gayathiri currently works as a coordinator for social work programs in Jesuit Social Services. Rebecca is a member of the Institute of Community Directors Australia and a volunteer manager in victim's services and child wellbeing. Both Gayathiri and Rebecca will be traveling to the USA next year.
