The Centre for Health, Exercise and Sports Medicine (CHESM) is pleased to announce a full-time PhD scholarship on offer to a suitably qualified domestic candidate with an allied health, medical, exercise or science-related degree.

Beginning in early 2022, the successful candidate will contribute to improved health outcomes in relation to a major public health issue, with the PhD project focusing on improving access to lifestyle management for those with knee osteoarthritis. The scope of the project is negotiable.

CHESM is a leading multidisciplinary research Centre within the University. Their research focuses on conservative strategies such as exercise in promoting broader health and wellbeing, and in preventing and managing major public health issues facing society.

Flyer which reads: "Obesity is a major public health problem that contributes to the onset and progression of many chronic diseases. The student will work with a multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, endocrinologists, dietitians, general practitioners and psychologists to develop and investigate a virtual care model of obesity management suitable for use in the community/primary care.
