20th Anniversary for The Collab!

The Victorian Collaborative Mental Health Nursing Conference (The Collab) celebrated its 20th anniversary on 15 and 16 August.

The annual conference applauds and showcases the specialist practice of mental health nursing how this practice contributes to better health outcomes for consumers of mental health services.

CPN’s Nursing Academic Teresa Kelly presented on ‘Heartscapes: A new narrative for understanding the complex interplay of mental illness and cardiovascular health’.

The theme for this milestone conference was ‘2000 – 2019 Celebrating 20 Years of Commitment to Mental Health Practice’ and was their largest conference to date with 445 attendees, 61 abstract presentations featuring 91 presenters across the mental health services, universities and peak bodies alongside four Keynote Speakers: Professor Brenda Happell, the Centre for Psychiatric Nursing’s (CPN) inaugural Director, Chief Mental Health Nurse; Anna Love, Mental Health Complaints Commissioner; Dr Lynne Coulson Barr and Consumer Advocate; Lemlei Le Velle.
