A Clinical Care Audit Tool (CCAT) for Australian optometrists:how well are you managing your patients with diabetes?
This optometric Clinical Care Audit Tool (CCAT) is designed for Australian optometrists to audit their clinical practices in relation to the eye care provided to patients with diabetes mellitus, against the NHMRC Guidelines for the Management of Diabetic Retinopathy (2008).
Dr Laura Downie and A/Prof Peter Keller developed this CCAT with the support of a 2015 Victorian Optometrists Training and Education (VOTE) grant.
The CCAT Excel spreadsheet is available for free download for both Mac and Windows.
The supporting documentation contains detailed instructions with regard to how to use the CCAT.
The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Guidelines for the Management of Diabetic Retinopathy (2008), which are needed as a reference for the CCAT, can be accessed via the NHMRC website.
Should you have any feedback or any queries about using the CCAT, please contact Laura Downie.
