Nursing and Dental Graduation

On 5 April, excited graduands and their families gathered together, along with a large number of academics and prize donors, for the conferring of graduate and specialist certificates in specialist fields of nursing practice and dental therapy.

Graduate Certificates awarded in the fields of nursing practice included neonatal Intensive care, paediatric intensive care, paediatrics, critical care, emergency, rural critical care, cancer and palliative care. Specialist Certificates were also awarded in blood management foundations, transfusion practice and palliative care.

It was a warm and engaging occasion with a particularly inspirational address given by Adjunct Professor Tanya Farrell, Executive Director, Nursing and Midwifery of the Royal Women’s Hospital. She touched the hearts and the minds of all with her moving account of the power of nursing’s past, the challenges of the present and the possibilities of the future. A number of prizes were awarded and both the donors and the recipients of the prizes were duly honoured. Graduates, guests and academics stayed to socialise and enjoy the refreshments.
