Nursing at Melbourne: 2022 Seminar Series

Our Event Series

Public participation in research is now positioned as the defining principle guiding the research process. Within this paradigm, inclusion of study participants in research results in co-created knowledge and provides collaborative benefits that empower those whose lives are most impacted by illness or injury. The success of participatory health research approaches also demands that careful consideration be paid to the inclusion of policy makers and others with vested interests to optimise impact and improve health outcomes for individuals and the community.

This year we are delighted to welcome back our alumni, colleagues, hospital partners, and wider community to Nursing at Melbourne’s 2022 event series.

We have called this year’s series

Participatory approaches to health research: the art and the science of effective partnership”.

Our events, both online and (with any luck) hybrid, will feature four eminent nurse colleagues whose research is making a positive contribution to the health outcomes of people.

Our speakers will introduce a range of innovative methods and techniques underpinned by participatory health research frameworks. Each will share their knowledge, experiences and practical know how on using various participatory research methods across areas as diverse as men’s health, critical care, cancer nursing and mental health.
