International Women's Day CMHN
International Women's Day CMHN
We are highlighting two awesome women and leaders today
Leading our team is only one of her many hats. Bridget is a registered mental health nurse who still makes a weekly visit to St Vincent’s. Since completing her PhD Bridget now dedicates multiple hours supervising and supporting the completion of other PhD students. In 2019/20 Bridget was author/co-author of 21 papers. Bridget is highly regarded for her practical actions is supporting and partnering with consumers in every day work. In 2018 Bridget won the VMIAC Ally Award for her ‘allyship’ to the Victorian consumer workforce.
Cath is a pioneer consumer academic and up until recently was the leader of the award-winning Consumer academic team at CMHN. She still has that role unofficially as we can’t let her go that easily. In her role, Cath has contributed to putting consumer leadership and human rights onto the agenda in mental health and provides support and supervision to many in the mental health consumer workforce. Cath spent a great deal of 2019/2020 providing expert advice to the Royal Commission into Victoria’s mental health system.
