Prestigious award for Peter Mac dietician
Department of Nursing PHD graduate and honorary staff member Nicole Kiss was recently awarded the prestigious Steven Grunberg Memorial award at the MASCC (Multinational Association of Supportive Cancer Care) conference.
The award recognises scientific excellence, leadership, and mentoring in the field of supportive care in cancer. Nicole is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietician and Manager of Nutrition and Speech Pathology at Peter Mac. Her research focuses on the relationships between nutritional status and weight loss, as well as nausea and vomiting, in cancer patients being treated with chemo-radiotherapy, and the effects of nutritional and exercise interventions. At the conference, Nicole also presented her research titled “Skeletal Muscle Depletion and Relationship to Survival in NSCLC Patients Receiving Chemo-radiation”.
