Patricia Research Report Launch: National Symposium on Preventing Domestic Violence
In June Dame Quentin Bryce, the former Governor General, launched the Report of the Patricia Project (PAThways and Research In Collaborative Inter-Agency Working) at a national symposium in Brisbane attended by more than 180 practitioners and policy makers from across Australia.
The Report summarised the findings of a two-year study, lead by Prof. Cathy Humphreys with Dr Lucy Healey and a team of experts, which focused on the relationship between statutory child protection, family law, and community‐based services in order to better enhance their support for women and children exposed to domestic violence. The research, an acknowledged game-changer, was funded by Australia's National Research Organisation for Women's Safety (ANROWS).
