Department of Nursing welcomes Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital
The Department of Nursing recently hosted 24 Registered Nurses from Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital. Established in 1922, Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital is one of the leading private hospitals in Hong Kong and is known for its high quality of patient care based on advanced knowledge, expertise and technology in the health care field.
The cohort of nurses attended a week long intensive program that focused on recognising and responding to clinical deterioration in the acute care setting. The program involved numerous face-to-face didactic lectures and 12 hours of high fidelity simulation. The program coordinated by Ms Amanda Connors, included presentations from a number of guest presenters including Professor Fiona Newell (Royal Children’s Hospital) and Associate Professor Daryl Jones (Austin Hospital).
